Happy New Year 2017- Oh how I wander

It is a new year and looking back at what  my art studio looked like when I moved into it last June and what it looks like today, you can get some idea of how I work. My studio is in my back yard and it is my sanctuary! Some may think it is unorganized (like my son) but to me it is Vicki organized.  At least most of the time I can find what I need.  Sometimes it is like a treasure hunt.
One area is being used as my fabric collage place, which was my paper printing area before I became obsessed with gluing pieces of fabric down. To the left is my painting and mixed media area where I am currently working on some pieces for a show with the theme, "Family, Friends, and Pets"  It is a theme that I am not entirely comfortable with, but it has sparked a mixed media series for me in the family area. At first I thought, "Oh no I don't have any pieces to enter for this show." Then I realized I had one piece I had started a long time ago.  Over the weekend I worked on it and think it is ready to go.

Of course there is my "By the Sea Series" paintings  that are calling my name to work on.

Then to the right and back of studio is my stitching and fiber art area. There I have about 10 pieces I am working on: Flight, By the Sea Fiber, and Tide pools series.

I recently signed up for an online Encaustics class and need to find space near a window for ventilation,  A little nervous I might burn this whole place down.

So for the year 2017 I plan on blogging to help me complete some of my projects.  Because now that I have written about all of the pieces to complete I realize I better get back to creating before school starts and I am back to teaching.
Happy Creating to Everyone!
